YANA (You Are Not Alone)

The first time I'd heard about YANA, my cousin was 7 years old with a rare infection and needed hospitalization for 5 days. My aunt had recently had her fourth child and their days as a family were very full. With a big breath and all the courage she could muster, she made way to Victoria Hospital with her sick daughter and baby girl.

YANA did not hesitate to provide them with an immediate place to stay and money for food during those 5 days.

A couple years later, it was my friends niece.

And then my friends daughter.

And later, her daughter again.

And then, and then, and then...

During some of these families most trying times, YANA provided ease and hope.

When I began to build Euspira, I knew I wanted to contribute to something bigger than whatever it was I was beginning to create. Ultimately, all roads led to being a child. I had a vision of bathing (me as) a baby in love, offering deep nourishment so that they knew in their bones that they were not alone.

That is when YANA popped into my memory. A full body yes.

You Are Not Alone (YANA) is a local non-profit society that provides accommodation and funding to Comox Valley families who need to travel outside the community for medical treatment for a child under 19 or for a pregnant mother.

YANA ensures that families in the Comox Valley are not alone when dealing with medical issues for their children. When a child is ill, the whole family requires care...

Their purpose is to improve access to healthcare by providing travel funding and accommodation so that families can stay focused on the health and wellness of their child.

Euspira will be donating 1% of all sales in 2025 to YANA.

If you would like to learn more about YANA, you can read about it here.

If you would like to make a separate donation, you can do so here.

If you would like to share an experience, or know of other non-profit societies like so outside of the Comox Valley, the comments are open.

Big love.
